    Council Member Dr. Robert Levy

    Dr. Robert Levy has always been a leader and community activist – now he serves at the pleasure of municipal public officials as the Town Manager of Pembroke Park. His primary focus has been on community development in public administration positions on both the state and local level. He is one of only 426 “credentialed” City Managers worldwide, signifying the top tier of City Managers by the International City and County Managers’ Association, and recently received an award of recognition from the International City Managers’ Association for his 25 years of government service.

    He bought his first home in the Jacaranda section of Plantation in 1978, and in 1989 moved to the east side. He was appointed by Mayor Frank Veltri to be a member of the City’s Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Board, and has served for the past 14 years. He is a founding member of the Country Club Estates Homeowners’ Association, has ser
    ved three terms as its President, and has been a member of the Board of Directors for the past 10 years. He is a certified Municipal Clerk, and was the Charter President
    of the Broward County Municipal Clerk’s Association. He is a Past President of the Broward City/County Managers’ Association, and was a member of the County’s Unsafe Structures and Housing Appeals Board, where he served two terms as Chairman. He recently received special recognition from the County for his work as a municipal representative to the County Fire Rescue Advisory Board.

    Dr. Levy holds an under graduate degree from Boston University, and received his Masters in Psychology from Florida State University. His education continued as he began his quest for an M.D. degree in Tropical Medicine in the Caribbean. He graduated from medical school after doing his clinical studies at The Royal Medical College of St.
    Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and Oxford University (Green College), England. In 1987 he returned to full time academia at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Govern
    ment, receiving a Master of Public Administration degree with a strength in Health Policy.
