Plantation Board Approves 248 New Rental Apartments!

Just read today’s Sun Sentinel and found this story of a company getting Plantation Board Approval for demolishing commercial buildings for 248 New Rental Apartments!

A company by the name of WOOD STONE PLANTATION LLC gained the approval for the project with the site plan being approved by the city’s Planning and Zoning Board, and is expected to go before the City Council in June.

In the article the company is referred to as a Plantation Company. Just looked the company up on Sunbiz.org and it looks like this is a New York company:

Now to the writers defense (Lisa J. Huriash) the online version and the printed version are two different headlines giving the impression in the printed version of the Sun Sentinel that the company is a City of Plantation company while the online version just says a company.

IMO it is typical City of Plantation. Only way to find out about a project unless you live next door, is through the media.

To say the least, more density will equal more traffic.

A Plantation Park East Homeowners Association officer running for the City of Plantation City Council Mr. Errol Brown’ platform is to bring more commercial activity to the area and this has had to be seen by him and believe that the President of the same association O’Neil Chin is or was on the city’s Planning and Zoning Board.

These individuals were against Christopher Longsworth’s INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation with their only concern of traffic in the community. This project will bring transient traffic and without infrastructure improvements, that has not happen with any project, the traffic will be horrendous.
