Corruption at City of Plantation City Hall!
Being a resident living in the City of Plantation, Plantation Park East Community for 16 years, always thought that the elected officials represented me, the little person that just wants to enjoy my home and community. Reading about corruption in other places and seeing it on TV news, it never resonated with me. Until now.
Over about the last 15 years or so the City of Plantation has systematically effected my quality of life and the value of my home! Wasted my time and effort to get the City of Plantation to enforce the code ordinances of the city equally throughout the entire city. Have had the community I live in referred to as “Those People” a number of times both in session and when speaking to individual Council Members. Thought I lived in the City of Plantation! Apparently not to these elected officials. This was the last straw!
My post from September 28th, 2016, Political Correctness… listing both the present owner, Christopher Longsworth, Founder/Chief Executive Officer, INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation and the previous owner of the property, Plantation Business Park ordinance violations, up to that date, the City of Plantation has protected the property owners over the residents of the Plantation Park East community.
My post from January 2, 2017, The Grass Is NOT Greener on the East Side of the Turnpike! In this post was my results from a Google search displayed City of Plantation City Council Minutes from January 7, 2009, which I attended and spoke before the City of Plantation City Council and I was told;
“The fines for Code Enforcement violations have been accruing since 2005”
“it is the City’s responsibility to represent the residents”
“quality of life is being impacted”
“Mayor Armstrong noted it is the job of Code Enforcement to seek out violations”
Was lied to and as evidence of the lies and corruption, look at the listing of violations in the September 28, 2016, Political Correctness post. From July of 2004 to December of 2014 were code violations concerning trash and debris, graffiti and building violations, it was not until January of 2015 did the property’s previous owner get cited for landscaping! Not one fine in the decade of habitual violations.
Believe it was 2015 when Christopher Longsworth, Founder/Chief Executive Officer, INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation, purchased the property.
Having to endure the swale of the property looking like a dump and people using the swale as a dump, as well as, people stopping their cars and urinating on the wall for all these years now can be attributed to the corruption in City of Plantation City Hall!
After recently attending two City of Plantation City Council Meetings, the Plantation Gateway Redevelopment District Advisory Board Luncheon Meeting and the Special Magistrate Meeting and conveying my views to the City of Plantation City Council on May 23, 2018, on May 31, 2018, Diana Berchielli, Chief Landscape Plans Examiner updated the 56: Check for Hearing Compliance as COMPLIED!
While at the Special Magistrate Meeting, I learned that if the property has not completed the necessary repairs or updates, the ordinance violation has not complied. Here Diana Berchielli, Chief Landscape Plans Examiner has updated the records for the property as COMPLIED and the property has not completed the necessary repairs as of this post.
The Special Magistrate Inspector told me the reason Christopher Longsworth, Founder/Chief Executive Officer, INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation, has not been fined was Political and now according to the City of Plantation Code Enforcement Online Activity Search the violations have been COMPLIED with and no fine will be assessed!
To me this corruption slaps the face of every resident in the City of Plantation! While small condominiums are fined thousands of dollars and time limits put on compliance a developer can do as he pleases without being fined!
Am appalled by this action and believe Christopher Longsworth, Founder/Chief Executive Officer, INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation should be fined from the first day of the violation as a representation that the City of Plantation treats everyone equally!
If you even mention the amnesty program going on right now, do not believe to be applicable to an habitual offender like Christopher Longsworth, Founder/Chief Executive Officer, INVESCA Development Group, Strata at Plantation!
