On September 13, 2016 I sent an email to the Mayor and every City Council Member. As a result of my concerns Mayor Diane Veltri Bendekovic responded with two sentences; Thank you for taking the time to email your concerns to my office. & I have forwarded your concerns to the Landscape Dept. and the issues will be addressed. City Council Member Lynn Stoner responded with one sentence; Thank you for your comments!
To date ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has been done!
These are the exact responses I get with no follow up from the elected officials for years now, but yet the City of Plantation is incapable of providing to the Plantation Park East Community the City of Plantation has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to insure the community upholds the Plantation Code of Ordinances.
Every holiday I hope for the best to be able to look out my window and see swale that conforms to the Plantation Code of Ordinances.
If you look at the April 20, 2016 post, is just one example that Code Enforcement has been a continual issue!
The reason for this site is to document the City of Plantation‘s East / West Divide and have a record of the loss of services that my tax dollars are SUPPOSED to provide to insure my property value and way of life that every resident in the entire City of Plantation deserves!
Examples of issues and posts documenting the issues that this city does not provide the same services throughout the City of Plantation.
Hurricane Mathew approached in the same week as bulk pick-up for the Plantation Park East Community, but on the eve of Mathew there where and still are piles of trash on the swale because all trash pick-up was canceled for the hurricane. Being very thankful for the slight right Mathew made, it still brought high winds that literally blew the debris of the bulk pick-up trash piles all over the community. Today there are continues to be piles of trash on the swales and the City of Plantation has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to insure the community upholds the Plantation Code of Ordinances.
In a post on May 27, 2016, the topic of Commercial Vehicles being parked overnight in the Plantation Park East Community and yet again City of Plantation Code Enforcement does NOTHING on the East side of the Florida Turnpike even though the Plantation Code of Ordinances prohibits Commercial Vehicles being parked overnight “in a residential district is prohibited unless it is completely enclosed in a garage, within the confines of a carport or parked within an accessory building.” And again the City of Plantation has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to insure the community upholds the Plantation Code of Ordinances.
Now let’s not even count the number of posts concerning the Plantation Business Park, now the Strata at Plantation Development and the business offices of the Invesca Development Group. In the September 28, 2016, Political Correctness post contains the list of violations since 2004! Not one violation did any owner of the property was fined for the continual issues with the west and south swale of the property. As a commercial property the City of Plantation has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to insure the community upholds the Plantation Code of Ordinances. But yet the September 28, 2016, City of Plantation vs. Christmas post.
This comes down to the East/West Divide and the fact that instead of the City of Plantation holding their employees responsible to uphold the Plantation Code of Ordinances on the East Side of the Turnpike, the City of Plantation turns neighbor against neighbor to have to report the violations.
Guess it’s too much to ask for the City of Plantation!
